Game Description: Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist is a 2013 stealth action-adventure video game developed by Ubisoft Toronto The game is the sequel to Splinter Cell: Conviction and the seventh installment of the Splinter Cell series. Players control Sam Fisher, a highly trained operative working for the Fourth Echelon, in a mission to stop the Engineers, a group of terrorists which is trying to coerce the United States into recalling all of its troops stationed abroad. The gameplay is similar to its predecessors, with players tasked with completing objectives and defeating enemies.
Role: Level Designer
Mission 9: Detention Facility
I was a level designer on the mission “Detention Facility” during development of Splinter Cell: Blacklist together with Ben Aerssen, of which he is responsible for the majority of the layout until he took over another Mission and I came in to finish the Mission. We also worked together with Level Artists Ken Liao, Modellers Sarah Cole-Megaro and Richard Brathwaite.
In this mission Sam Fisher goes undercover into Guantanamo Bay and therefore we had the challenge of designing a level in which Sam is missing most of his gear for the first half of the mission, plus he cannot use lethal weaponry on American soldiers
